Vanilla Mint Tastes Good

Buffy's hand was linked with Angel's as they walked into the library.  It was Tuesday, which meant two hours studying for history.  Midterms were coming up soon and she was starting to fail the subject again.  It wasn't her fault the subject is as dull as water.  Two hours isn't so bad though, when your history tutor is your 242 year old vampire boyfriend.  Smoochies are pretty much a guarantee.

Giles greeted the couple as they reached the table and then disappeared back into his office.  "Well wasn't he eager to get back to his tea."  The slayer said, amused.

Angel smirked. "I think we made him a little uncomfortable after our last show of affection."

Buffy sat down, grinning at the memory.  "He looked like I got gum in one of his musty old books."  She dumped a few books onto the table.  "So what should.." she began, but stopped because of Angel's questioning look.  She glanced at the contents from her bag and looked back at him.  He motioned with his eyes what he had noticed.  She followed his gaze and suddenly, she wished she hadn't been so carefree with laying everything out.  A few stakes were scattered, a bronze lipstick, and three books - math textbook, a novel for English, and a library book with the title "Seducing Broody Fang".  Her eyes went wide.

She started blushing.  "Heh, um, it's not what it looks like --- it's uh - I was... Giles wanted me to read up on some vampire history.  Ya know when it all began, what made the first vampire tick - that sort of thing." It was sort of the truth anyway.  Giles had really asked her to research one vampire and showed her to the collection of books about vampires.  One book she pulled out surprised her.  "It's just some boring book about how to attract vampires and stuff."  That's sort of what she thought it would be.  After she started to read the first page; the first two chapters, she kind of stuck with it.  It actually turned out to be some really detailed romance novel about a blond and a tall, broody vampire.  "Ya know, just your standard how to book.  Only with -"

Angel's lips were suddenly pressed hotly against Buffy's, successfully putting an end to her babbling.  Buffy wrapped her arms around his neck.  He pulled away, leaving her breathless with a dreamlike smile on her face.  "Buffy?  Why does your mouth taste like vanilla mint?"

"What.. Oh." She mumbled, paying more attention to his taste lingering in her mouth.  "It's this new Crest toothpaste.  It..."  She smiled at his lips, "tastes good."

"About the book Buffy.  You don't need to be embarrassed." He pushed a strand of hair behind her ear.  She nodded.  "So, is there anything in there you might want to reenact?"

Buffy reached for the book.  Smiling innocently, she said softly, "There might be a thing or two we could try."
